The violence that erupted after Kenya’s 2007-2008 disputed general elections resulted in the death of over 1,300 and the displacement of over 600,000 people. Violence and displacement typically affects women, children and other vulnerable persons disproportionately. This documentary highlights some of the challenges faced by internally displaced women and children during and after the post-election violence as they narrate their healing processes. The Refugee Consortium of Kenya (RCK) is a legal and policy development organisation that has provided legal and psychosocial assistance to the victims of the violence and undertaken advocacy for the enactment of a legal framework on internal displacement in Kenya.
